BARRACUDA CASINO SE1
A refurbishment and uplift of an existing the existing Barracuda Casino in SE1 London. Here we looked at three design options, ranging from Heritage, through to classic contemporary and the a wild card option, a "sexy Fish"/ "Annabel's" inspired look and feel. The option we all agreed on was a Heritage meets Middle Eastern look and feel, this was aligned with the existing client base.
PLANNING
The overall existing layout and flow of the casino was to be kept fairly intact, within these areas however we drilled down and re-planned and re-designed these areas so as to make them more customer friendly and easier to manage from the everyday running POV. Within the restaurant a banquette was introduced and a feature wine wall was situated to the far end to create an interesting vista, but also helped operationally. The VIP zone was to be extensively refurbished with a luxurious seating area and break-out zone added.
MOOD BOARD
The Heritage Club look and feel with classic undertones. The use of tactile fabrics and materials and a darker rich indulgent palette.
SKETCH PROPOSALS
Below are examples of the defined proposal this was then presented to the Rank board for approval. The proposed sketches are still loose at this stage, so as to enable feedback and valued opinions.
ENTRANCE & FOYER
The entrance is a key touch point for the brand and offer as and was in-turn given great consideration. A canopy carrying the new brand with use of bronze detailing and new marble cladding creates a distinctive sense of arrival.
RESTAURANT & DINING
The new seating arrangement took in to consideration the requirements of larger parties. The banquettes were upholstered in velvet with inlaid diagonal detailing. A brass perimeter detail to the tables with a marble inlay. A feature wall with vertical detailing carries the new brand identity.
THE WHITE ROOM VIP
The White Room, a name inherited from the previous scheme as a result of the clean white finishes, was defined with a more opulent palette. The use of velvet and brass detailing for the custom seating framed by a brass inlaid dark timber stained feature wall.
BAR DESIGN
The bar was to be re-positioned and re-clad, formal seating at the bar required an overhang addition. Regarding The bar apron a replicated "fish scale" tile detail was proposed. The back bar was re-designed utilising bronzed mirror and feature lighting to hero and high-light the optics.
