KODAK CES Las Vegas 2018
CES Las Vegas being THE consumer tech. show, Kodak wanted something special to highlight its product showcase. Kodak being a brand with legacy started 1888 and had to reinvent itself and offer to reflect the changing needs of the customer. From photo centric mobile phones through to its legendary Kodachrome film THE film used by Hollywood directors for the super 8 camera.
FOLLOW ME DOWNTOWN
The Exhibition concept was to create a downtown las Vegas feel to the stand, rather than the sterile, glitz and psychosis of Vegas a more earthy, industrial, "for real " approach to the design response, using downtown Vegas as a reference.
THE MARKET
On approaching the stand the delegate would be enticed onto the stand with a "kodak market place" surrounded by quasi retail facades with "walk in, bricks and mortar style " retailing.
PLANNING AND ADJACENCIES
Three Retail offers, Lifestyle products, Analogue & Digital with the Market Place being the orientation hub and the central feature of the design. Interconnecting walkways with clear-sight lines, perimeter seating and hospitality to create an immersive and engaging customer journey. Exploring the Downtown Kodak Exhibition creates an ownable and exploratory experience much akin to being a tourist experience.
RENDERS OF PROPOSED
The renders help illustrate the modular market stalls on approach. Large format graphics were used at height to create standout, and information. Visual cues from Vegas were also used to good effect such as illuminated signage. The perimeter retailing was design to be like a retail shop and shopfront to entice the customer in. A double deck structure was reused as Kodak owned this, and utilized for Hospitality and meeting rooms.
